I’ve written this piece last autumn, on the night I’ve received the letter from the handicap administration. It was a letter I was waiting for a very long time. 10 months to be precised. I was waiting for this recognition of my son’s handicap and it has been a long administrative fight.

I didn’t know with whom to share this news or my feelings so I wrote. It was the best thing to do at the moment. As I was collaborating on several pieces with YourZenMama at the time, I wrote to this amazing community, without really thinking. And I sent them my text, like a bottle thrown at sea.

Today you can read my text about what it is to be the mother of an autistic child on the beautiful blog of YourZenMama.
